  1. stop data acquisition program: ->'System' ->'Exit'
    all related windows should disappear, if the 'Cosy-Log' window stays open
    1. terminate or kill all processes which communicate with the front end electronics
      • xh
      • xh_scaler
      • event_decoding
      • ...
    2. remove all shared memory sections (list:'ipcs', remove:'ipcrm -m <ID>') except the ones with extremely long KEY e.g. '1127297370'
    3. if this doesn't help, kill the process 'commu' owned by user 'c11'
  2. remove tape from Exabyte drive by pressing the button at the front, write-protect the tape
  3. switch several crates off
    1. CAMAC crate with controller 'IKPQ02': Mains OFF
    2. FASTBUS crate 1: DC OFF
    3. FASTBUS crate 2: DC OFF
    4. trigger PC: remove mains plug
    5. CAMAC crate with controller 'IKPC08' (DRAMS): Mains OFF
    6. VME crate : Mains OFF
  4. switch several crates on (correct order is essential)
    1. CAMAC crate with controller 'IKPQ02': Mains ON
    2. FASTBUS crate 1: DC ON
    3. FASTBUS crate 2: DC ON
    4. trigger PC: insert mains plug
    5. CAMAC crate with controller 'IKPC08' (DRAMS): Mains ON
    6. VME crate : Mains ON
      wait till the displays at the E6 modules show '4'
  5. insert a new tape into the Exabyte drive
  6. start 'wendy'
