Precise measurements of the total cross section for the pp->pp eta' reaction have been performed at the internal installation COSY-11 using a stochastically cooled proton beam and a hydrogen cluster target. The obtained results rather question the former hypothesis about a possible repulsive interaction between the eta' meson and the proton. The determined energy dependence of the total cross section in the excess energy range below 25 MeV can be described by phase space and the proton-proton FSI only. Experimental results on the eta' meson production in the collisions of protons will be discussed in comparison with the creation of the eta meson, which has also been studied at the COSY-11 facility. The magnitude of the production cross section for both pp->pp eta' and pp->pp eta will be compared with theoretical models.
